By liking your post I am celebrating his life. I am not enjoying his death. Nog was the antithesis of Wesley Crusher. A young eager character that people liked and one who had a deep and interesting character arc. Eisenberg was able to emote and express his face through all the prosthetics on his costume.
 
Agree. Nog was a bit obnoxious in the first season but became one of my favourites later on.

And always sad to see someone die at a comparatively early age (he was 50).

That is a real shame - Nog's one of my favourite characters too, especially as I'm such a fan of the Ferengi episodes in DS9. What a shame that he died comparatively young - anyone know what he died of?

AFAIK there are no informations about the cause of his death, but IIRC he has had severe kidney problems for some years. I vaguely recall reading that he had both kidneys replaced or something.

Maybe that's a European phenomena. I don't see the same trend where I live and I most definitely don't see Monty Python coming close to Star Wars on this forum. Though the later might be due to me. :p
