Blog The Jade Host: Mayan Lizardmen

Canal project part 2 is basically complete. All the little bits of foilage have been added and are drying.

The swamp "rapids" turned out good, but its more swamp than rapids. Didn't really pull off the rapid effect at all, more experimenting with water effects is warranted.

The stepping stone tiles are looking good!

Have a ton of epic terrain pictures to share, starting with a river crossing using some of my new water terrain features:

Had to diorama all of these up a bit of course.

Bunch more close-ups from the canal network!

Some alligators are hoping for a quick snack while the skink skirmishers cross the river:

Meanwhile some terradon scouts, above the lofty jungle canopy, have engaged a lone Bretonnian champion:

can't help but think the knights might want to choose a dryer local for their cavalry charges though ;P

Quite true, didn't work out so well in Agincourt, and a full on cav charge probably wouldn't work across a jungle river either.

I really like your rivers. If you made a tutorial about how to make rivers like it I would like totally index it.

Beautiful river terrain pieces. As @Scalenex said, it would be great if you made a tutorial for these, as I was thinking of designing sump canal terrain sections for my Necromunda layout and wasn’t sure how best to go about it.

Actually I think that is a great idea, let me see what pictures I have lying around; I may be able to put one up just with those.
