The Slann starmaster has the ability to use troglodons as a vessel for casting. Does that mean I can cast endless spells from a troglodon? So in my hero phase I can use lords of space and time on the troglodon to get it close then cast all the nasty spells from it while my Slann is nice and cozy behind my lines?

Edit: Cutting out the middleman could I just get a cheap skink starpriest then use Lords of space and time on him and just have him cast the endless spells? This is cheaper but probably not as fun as casting the aethervoid pendulum from a troglodon.

I don’t think so

I’m sure the latest FAQ says you can’t use abilities that extend the range of endless spells, I could be wrong but @Aginor will know

Oh that sucks, I had heard something about that faq but I was thinking this would still be allowed because it doesn’t “increase” the range of the spell, it just transfers the location where it’s being cast from

Edit: the faq says
Q: Do things that increase the range of a caster’s spells also apply to the distance at which an endless spell can be set up from the caster? A: No. Things that increase the range of a spell’s effects do not apply to the distance at which an endless spell can be set up. By the same token, things that allow you to measure the range of a spell from a different location to the caster cannot be used when setting up an endless spell.

So no troglobomb :(

Yeah, that was a bit of a d*** move by GW.
Especially because they even mentioned it in the faction focus.

As far as I understood the change was mainly meant to hit Morathi since she was basically bombing the whole table with endless spells, but it destroyed a few tactics of our Seraphon as well. Instead of nerfing her they nerfed everyone...

seems to be a habit GW has looking at some of their rules… Nerfs targetting a specific abuse case seem to be rare.

Yeah, unfortunately that's the case.

Can you move an endless spell via lords of space and time? That would be neat :D

nope only works on "starborne" units. If we ever get a "starborne" endless spell than you could move that one :p

It is a damn shame that we can't (there was a brief moment of time when we could) but yeah, that's the situation.

Is there like a special move (with endless spells) which can only be done by us? Some combo sheningans?

luckily hes not a bad wizard with oracle of the slann, so you can cast it from him pretty reliably.

Trog *just* needs a second cast and I think he'd be golden...
It'd also need something to cast in that case. But yeah, a 2nd cast (+spell to fill it with), a command ability, an actually decent statline, there's a whole host of potential options that don't need to be particularly major.

Eh, the trog is really quite good but it's only because of his interaction with kroak.

Once kroak is changed he will need something to make him be able to stand on his own a bit better.

If he had two casts, I would strongly consider bringing him for Comet's Call + a Skink Lore spell
