I HAVE THE POWER!!! (in terms of forum milestones)

Cutting clean through the shaft of the spear is going to be rather problematic though if it's made out of halfway decent wood... I doubt it'd be very practical.
Indeed... as a pole weapon is usually only fix on one end and the other end can absorb the force of a kstrike by simply moving, I think the only way to surly cut/break it is a straight strike from above blocked by the pole held up with both hands at either side of the contract point...

Yeah.we know
Since you have been documenting your approach to 5000, I thought you would appreciate it.

that looks realy creepy, it is fitting.
What is with this anti-NIGHTBRINGER campaign of yours?

Since when was a Sith Lord a hero? (Apart from Darth Vader when he sacrificed himself to kill Palpatine and ended the Sith forever)
Hero is a point of view. A villain to one group is a hero to another.

OK, but that doesn't stop you proving yourself to me :p
LOL

Coward! Fight like a man!
Winning is winning. The brave are always the first to die.

Unless one of the swordsmen cuts off the spear tip. Then the spearman is in trouble unless he uses the haft like a quarterstaff

I agree with @Canas . Cutting through the shaft of a proper spear is not nearly as easy as it is made out in movies/tv.

Hooray Thor again!

It isn't impractical to Thor though as he only needs part of his strength to lift it. If he needed all his strength just to lift the thing he wouldn't be able to do much else with it.

That's better, a noble weapon of a bygone age, but here's a better one:

Agreed here. The English crushed the Scots at Flodden as they used billhooks that were more wieldy than the pikes the Scots used, as well as having better training.
Have you ever attempted cutting through a spear haft with a sword? You have to hit it straight on, and with the correct portion of your blade. Not to mention the type of wood

Fair point.

Winning is winning. The brave are always the first to die.

At least they die with honour though, and as long as there are scribes to write down the accounts of their deeds, they will have some form of immortality.

Ah, OK sorry. I thought you mean AoS not KoW. I certainly like the look of the Empire of Dust range for KoW.
They are certainly usable and very fun to paint. I still have some to work on. My problem is that no one makes a decent skeleton model with no clothes anymore. All of them have some form of deteriorated clothing which makes them much more complicated to paint rather than just Bay skeletons with maybe a little bit of armor and their weapons and shield

Exactly. Even with a very good blade it isn't easy. Movies got that very wrong usually.

Yup. Don't get me wrong it depends on the wood too. If you make a spear haft out of wood grown for lumber, it's going to be less dense and easier cut then natural forest wood (16-18 growth rings as opposed to 65)

Yes.... but it is the victor that usually ends up writing history. The conquered and defeated rarely have a voice to last across the ages. The victorious pass on the recounts of the events and they do so from their own (biased) frame of reference.
