Because you have to admit it's fun to attempt to poke holes in things:
1. Surely with everything that had happened prior, the assassination or attempted assassination of Padmè Amidala would have taken place under different circumstances. Jango not using a saber dart perhaps, or different Jedi protecting her that didn't have Kenobi's deductive skill or contacts. You could be pretty sure that events would turn out differently with Valorum in charge. You suggested it could be Gunray that hired him; he would presumably want her to suffer, or hire him at a different time, requiring a different plan for Jango, and maybe with Obi-Wan and Anakin away, so different Jedi (or no Jedi at all. Valorum in charge would mean a lot of changes everywhere and circumstances might mean they do not believe they require a Jedi guard or whatever. There would have been changes to the events of the Phantom Menace as well, so while they might not major they could still affect things as well. Perhaps Gunray was killed in the liberation of Naboo?). Maybe events would lead to Jango not being hired at all. There's no way the events would have happened in the same way, and with all the possibilities it would be an incredibly slim chance of Kenobi actually finding the Clones.
2. It has been proven that it is perfectly possible to kidnap a Chancellor, and I'm not talking about Revenge. In The Clone Wars tv show, the episodes Deception through Crisis on Naboo show a group of Bounty Hunters kidnap Palpatine. The plan failed, but that was because it was doomed from the start: Palpatine orchestrated the whole thing, and deliberately had the Jedi get wind of it and have Obi-Wan infiltrate the group. Had that not been the case, the plan would have succeeded. And given that they were able to kidnap him, killing him would be more than possible. To be honest, all it would really take is some senator's aide to have a concealed blaster with good range and a good aim, and they could easily shoot him during a session.
3. Seeing as we're in agreement that even if Jar-Jar hadn't been manipulated Palpatine still would have risen to power some way or another, either by finding another way to become Chancellor or by using the Separatists instead, as I suggested, his overall rise to power wasn't Jar Jar's fault. However, the furthering of his plan at that stage certainly was. You can't say that him being manipulated wasn't a result of his faults and therefore, it was his fault that lead to the motion being passed. That's not to say that Palpatine couldn't have found another way, but it was still Jar Jar that did the deed, so you have to blame him for that particular segment of the plan being furthered. It wasn't his fault overall, but as we know, @NIGHTBRINGER thoroughly hates Jar Jar, which is fair enough, and he's perfectly justified in doing so. And if you really hate someone, an opportunity to discredit them is very attractive. We're all (you included) trying to do things to make each other come round to our way of thinking, so you can't blame him for emphasising Jar Jar's role in things.
