Ok this is very easy to do and take's about 30 minutes.

Step 1 grab a normal skink

Step 2: Remove the crest and hand weapon and cut the tail off, be careful here and watch your fingers,

Step 3: Roll some green stuff you don't need alot about a 5mm ball is plenty, roll 2 small balls for the eyes about 1mm.

Place these over the eyes, use a cocktail stick or a rubber shaper.
Roll a ball about 3mm and then roll out a sausage shape about 10mm in length, then dampen your finger (don't lick your finger as green stuff could be harmful) and push it into a curl but leave around 4mm straight, make sure it's a little bit thinner than the cut tail so when you push it on it thickens to the same thickness, with the remaining green stuff flat it out and put it over where the crest was and smooth down, try and make it look like a cloth.

Job done....

This is pretty much how I went about it, only sticking points I found were getting the tail to stay attached to the model and matching the size of the tail stub, and getting the eyes lined up properly...

It's handy enough though!

With the tail as you push it on smooth down the sides with a wet rubber shaper or wet finger.

I just hope it helps people that have never done conversions.

I pinned my tails as they kept popping off, you might be able to get away with just super glue, but I'd worry about tails snapping off if they aren't adhered or pinned in place. Nice tutorial tho

This may sound silly, but can you describe how to make that rolled tail with green stuff? I tried it last weekend but failed miserably.

Roll out about a 10mm length of greenstuff then dampen your finger (don't lick your finger as green stuff could be harmful) and push it into a curl but leave around 4mm straight, make sure it's a little bit thinner than the cut tail so when you push it on it thickens to the same thickness.

The rolling was the problem for me actually. It always either looked like a pig's tail or it became too flat seen from the sides.

Bowser in with the brutal cat skinning tutorial...
Haha! Yeah, didn't think that entirely through, but just bulk it out a bit. Make an armature for it and wrap it around, and should look quite good.
