9th Age The soft silence that seems to be setting in on this forum

We could perhaps hold ourself for a couple of hours without Bob, but soon or later we would really just start beating each other with the eggshell he left behind.

Madness, madness and eggshells..... o_O

I think all the army specific forums have taken a hit, some are just shells now. Chamber of the Everchosen is lucky to get a couple threads active each month in their subforums and the Wood elf forum was going to shut down though it's now going to be relocated the high or dark elf servers.

That's really sad, to see the decline of warhammer community.

Speaking personally, 'til AoS I was only a lurker (and avid reader of 8th tactics, for which I will ever be grateful ;)), but after the storm that hit us all, I've joined Lustria exactly to support the forum in these hard times of change.
And in the end, unlilke many of our counterparts, we're not in a so bad condition.

Well, i have seem to have hit a bit of an open vein here, it's obvious that people at least somewhat feel the same as i do on this. It is all down on the fracturing of the whole fanbase, we had one game we all loved and played, and now it are 4 games. It feels a bit like the situation that can occur when a game dev releases new map packs, not everyone buys them, so the community splits, and the community as a whole has longer and worse matchmaking, if that even makes sense in this context. I feel that the 9th age guys are doing a really good job, but that they can only really cater to people who have been in the hobby for a long time, as you sortoff have to be active on the forums to know about it. You miss the whole, you just walk into a GW, and you can get started.

I'm just glad that LO still provides a relatively active playerbase that is actually nice and friendly to eachother. If you look at T9A forums youll see that there is plenty of SA bashing going around sadly

Yes that is a very good point :)
We have a neat and friendly community in here. T9A isn't actually that bad, just in comparison to us :p some if it is to be expect, it's after all a forum of different armies and thus very different opinions.

This is a very tough forum to beat, it is probably the best war-gaming forum around.

I have to admit that Lustria Online has been pretty active as of late; mainly AoS content but very active none the less.

Still not tempted to try AOS?

I actually really like AoS, it took a while to adjust my normal competitive style down and I still wish there was an official well balanced list building rule set. But overall the game mechanics and tactics involved are really a lot of fun, and probably takes more thought to have a well played game than 8th ever did.

That said my brother refuses to play it so I'm stuck with only playing 9th, which is also a lot of fun.

Evidence that slowly but surely, we're assimilating all of the Lizardmen players into our Collective.

Resistance is futile.
