Your Favorite Dinosaur!

My favorite dinosaurs?
The crow, corvus corvus, one if the most intelligent animals there is. Capable of solving puzzles that a 7 year old child, can't. They live in huge packs; are highly social, together with the fact that they can coordinate attacks against intruders and remembers enemies and friends. Had they been the size of a large dog, they would absolutely be the terror of halocene.

But extinct dinosaurs you say... well then I've always loved the lion of jurassic, the allosaur. Nice crest piece, was probably gorgeous in real life, with proto feathers and ornamentations. Pack hunters that lurked the jurassic aeroplane (much better right bob ;) ), all a cross the world; during the end of jurassic and even beyond.

.... oh and dromeosaurs are cool! Feathers!

Herbivore: Ankylosaurus, kentrosaurus and Stegosaurus

Carnivore: Utahraptor and theropods in general....have a hard time deciding.....T-rex and allosaurus is hard not to mention though :P
 
Hum, I'd say it's a tie between the Troodon and the Spynosaurus (troglodon's cousin with better eyesight :P )

Not to be picky but its spelt "Spinosaurus", but you are right about the eyesight and familial relation to Troglodon! :p
 
australovenator Ftw, with a close second being utarraptor. Just love those mid sized carnivores!


I call him BLARGH!
 
My fave few dinos are Quantassaurus, Australovenator, Utahraptor and Gorgonopsid
Although it's not my favourite, I also like the Kronosaurus, it's another sea 'monster' and on a family fossil digging trip, Mum found a tooth!

this is the trip where I found out about the Australovenator and thought it was pretty cool.
Quantassaurus and other Leaellynasaura have been a favourite sincle childhood (you have to admit they are pretty cute!)

How can I pick just one!?

If I had to pick one, it would have to be a theropod.
And I would have to say my favorite theropod is Carnotaurus.

Reasons I picked it:
1. It has a large head to body ratio like a T-Rex.
2. Skin impressions discovered along side bone tell us it had spins down it's back.
3. It's horns of course!
Horns on a theropod! It's like picking triceratops and tyrannosaurus at the same time! It's the only carnivore known to have horns.

I was reading about how some crows (or maybe magpies) used to crack open walnuts by dropping them repeatedly over hard ground. Then some crows somewhere, I think Japan, discovered they could expedite the process by moving walnuts in front of the tires of temporarily stopped cars. They even learned how to read traffic lights to do this more efficiently.​
 
Imagine if a raptor learned to push you in front of a train (after reading the time table)

I read something a like this, but yeah it might be magpies. Doesn't change my amazement with these animals :D
