The problem with Alarielle and 6 Hunters is the shooting, since it's essentially unavoidable and on average kills a Slann. The magic and the charges you can avoid and control with your own deployment. Another option would be to present other juicy targets, forcing your opponent to decide between different threats to target. If you're lucky, he will split his attention and kill nothing fully. You could also use the Slann as bait, and set it up so that your opponent has to commit to killing it, leaving himself vulnerable to a double turn.
I mean, it's on you to create a favorable scenario out of anything. Against a 1-drop army, you have to try and deploy in a way such that you take minimal losses if he goes first and are then able to capitalize hard on a double turn, and that you are also able to capitalize immediately if he gives you first turn. If you have a well designed list, this is always possible, although it can be difficult.
