8th Ed. where do lizard battles take place?

At the end of the lizardmen fluff in the army book Mazdamundi declares that all chaos must be eradicated from the world. So i was thinking, do the lizardmen invade the dark elves in naggaroth and then get on ships and sail to the empire to fight beastmen and orks? I mean, how are the lizards going to finally defeat the chaos unless the lizardmen travel the world fighting chaos?

One might assume that they open portals and just slip in and out to where they need to be.

I think they were having problems operating the portals since the great calamity that caused the whole mess with chaos in the first place. Were the portals still operating, the Slann could simply teleport to the other cities, but in the army book, the fluff states that they left on a journey through the jungles accompanied by regiments of saurus and skinks. That leads me to believe that the portals cannot be relied upon.

The races further north on the continent of Lustria would fall first - the empire colonies and the Dark Elves even further north than that. (Can't remember who else lives on that continent).

Also, boats may not be out of the question with the Lizardmen. They are based on ancient South-American cultures and I believe that the Mayans had massive barges - mainly for religious purposes sure, but the Lizardmen could then be made out to use something similar.

the lizards could keep going north until they get to the northern wastes, where chaos is strong, but there would be no sun and lizardmen are cold-blooded.

I doubt that would be a huge problem in a world where magic can cause blood and teeth to rain down and give us man-eating trees. Slann will think of something.

The gortrex and felix books mention that the paths of the old ones (shudders as purple lightning strikes) still work nbut they have been err infected by the chaos taint (i think its giant slayer)
unless im wrong they actually mention lizard men in a glyph form and several temple cities in albion.
Besides if a slann has the power to move continents when he's bored then id presume he can do somthing trivial like move an army without too much trouble

There is always the Lizardmen on the other continent. The Lizard have jungles south of the tomb kings and and another one south of Cathay.

well, after checking the fluff in the 8th edition rulebook, Lizardmen do use the geomantic web to get their armies across the world to fight those not part of the old one's plan. I even made a geomantic web portal (looks like a star gate)! its just the engine of the gods, but looks great! we now have an excuse to fight orcs, beastmen, etc etc.

in question to the boats their was a pic on google that showed lizardmen going on huge turtle type things, somone made a conversion thaat sjowed it ,it looked v cool.

I believe thst was based off of the 15mm Naval Wargame that GW used to make.


I believe the Geomantic portals are a seperate system from the polar warp gates,
so as long as the portal remains intact the portal should still work, this system
reaches around the world, to all of the continents, there's asketch of the Lustrian
geomantic lines in the lizie book, to bad they don't show the rest of them.
