Without doubt, it's the Slann. The 2nd generation Slann is the best wizard in the game. A 3rd generation Slann is the second best wizard in the game. And so on. His spellcasting ability is truly awesome.
I also think Kroxigor are a scary unit. Strength 7 hurts quite a lot.
Salamanders id say not many units can dish out the damage they can do in one phase i can still remember when they anhilated (in one phase) my friends 20 strong unit of orcs with his general in. Just imagine what you could do to a skaven player
They're a really well-rounded army. I suppose the scariest unit to face is the one most effective against whichever army you play. That's the Slann for me.
I also go with salamanders. Watch any elf player drop his mouth when you use 6 in a 2000 point game ^^
I usually don't do this. It feels like powergaming ^^
Slann are quite hard, but teclis for example is even with them.
The scariest thing, and also one of the things that attracted me to and has kept me with the army for the past 9 years is their versatility and reliabilty. I have yet to come across an army that I couldn't beat with good tactics and the fact that I can rely on my units to do what I expect them to and hang around the majority of the time if things get rough is invaluable.
I'd have to say the stegadon or the carnosaur. Even if I didn't know the stats and the rules for them just seeing a giant dinosaur that wants to stomp and eat my face would be enough to make it number 1 on my scary things to kill list.
