What are you doing today hobbywise?

Building some more orcs for my Angmar collection while on duty. Wasn't keen on using GW's Mordor Orcs when I started collecting for the faction, so I went with Oathmark Orc Infantry instead.

Today i'm doing a large (albeit incomplete :() re-organisation of the storage spaces of all my armies...

...I really should do that. I have my armies sorted out in those plastic shoebox bins at the moment, but none of them are labeled (the few that are? not labeled correctly - after all, I don't have an army that is 'dried fruit and nuts')

Sounds like quite the mercenary outfit. XD Do you think a company of sellswords calling themselves "Dried Fruit and Nuts" would have a battlecry like "We are one of your five a day!"? :p

Or would they be more crude and lewd?

Maybe more like "We are DRIED FRUIT and we're NUTS!"

Sooooo... what am I doing today hobbywise...

Well, a while ago, I made my own Centigors:

But that was for AoS. Now that I'm converting them for square bases for The Old World, I took a look at the weapon options in the big book of angry armies. Lots of new weapon options for Centigors in there. Throwing Axes, Cavalry Spears, Throwing Spears, and... great weapons... So this required me to make more Centigors!

Let me introduce my newest prototype:

(my chainmail sculpting skills need work - I need to find a pin to use, as the toothpick I used was waaaaay too thick)

Thoughts? Suggestions?

That's really a massive work.
Especially with something around 10 armies, plus faction terrains, sceneries, endless spells and so on

Looking good, fellow Beastlord!

Keep it up, looking forward to seeing the entire unit :)

To be honest I would have suggested Oathmark's Goblins for the role of run-of-the-mill Mordor Orcs, as they are around the same sort of size and share a similar aesthetic:

The Oathmark Orcs, meanwhile, are bigger and better-armoured (as can be seen in this pic below), and are more suitable for representing Mordor Uruk-Hai:

What treachery is this?

Is this @Killer Angel or Arkhan the Black? I thought you were the Tomb King of the forum... instead... a traitor to your own kind. ;)

Let's put it this way... i was literally fighting against my own army.
(Disclaimer: the dude wanted to play TK, so he burrowed mine.)

It was kinda fighting against a usurper. No one can rule my army if not me! ;)

Well, kind of too late for that. I already have 51 of the bastards built specifically to be Angmar Orcs, including three captains and banner bearers each.

My dear @Killer Angel , if anything, that makes it even worse :(. You let your beloved Tomb Kings be fielded against you. You've seen @Mrs. NIGHTBRINGER field my Lizardmen alongside her Wood Elves against my forces, but I ask you, how many times have you seen my Chaos Dwarfs fielded against me? :p The brotherhood of Hashut is unbreakable.

:D

again, our perspectives diverge, but i failed to give some vital informations.
The guy (a 40k player) is tempted by fantasy, and was pondering about AoS or TOW.
I'm working to introduce him to the superior game, by letting him play (with a numerical advantage) one of the most fascinating armies.

As a consequence, he's already dropping the AoS idea, and he's seriously considering the purchase of a Bretonnia 2nd hand army

It's not a betrayal, quite the contrary. A noble sacrifice for a higher goal.

And it seems your ploy has worked! An excellent move, good sir, let your friend fully give himself to TOW, and cast aside any temptation from the weak path of AoS...
