What are you doing today hobbywise?

Right.

So I just finished unboxing everything I have bought so far (it's all Ebay and like sites as I am useless at painting)

Plus dividing it into stuff that survived being posted and stuff that didn't...

Tomorrow I'll start confronting fixing all those that were wounded in battle with Royal Mail (an unofficial 8th Edition faction ;))

Actually doing some plans on some Warhammer Fantasy 6th edition, would mean sourcing down some stuff as I want to keep most of the that are intended for AoS.
But the fun part is that I can actually get models that are not GW, so I get a tiny bit more freedom there. Ordered a Carnotaurus miniature to be a Carnosaur, hopefully he will fit on the base.
Plans so far are for Lizardmen and Beastmen.

Wow! Nice one. 6th edition huh? Any particular reasons?

Would love to see a Beastman army. It's one of the ones I'd like to have but a) I can't paint so won't buy unpainted models and b) literally no-one is selling them on Ebay just some models here and there.

(Same with Wood Elves which is a shame as that's the other one I'd snap up if a nicely painted one was up for sale)

Was working on basing a few minis, including my Salamanders models. The sand was sealed to the base using thin superglue. As I was going with a Volcanic sand/ash theme for my Salamanders, I went over it with Black Templar afterward.

The rims of the bases were done using Tamiya Copper.

There is a guy I used to play a bit of the older editions with who suggested 6th when I mentioned how satisfying having ranked up square based models.
Then you have some units that behave like skirmish.
Got told it was one of the better editions, later on we might do some tweaking and put some newer units into the game.
Hoping he doesn't cheese like always before, example was Infernal Gateway spam.

Fair enough.

For the record, I would recommend 8th edition but it's up to you ;)

Yeah, 8th was actually my first game when I first joined the hobby. My first army being Dark Elves, some still being around. So I would of been more comfortable with 8th. Apparently 6th it is. I might sit down at one point and make a few 8th edition lists.

The 8th will be with you. Always.

I just remembered why he might have a preference to 6th, well one reason. In 8th the Elves have got access to Always Strike First and he hates it :p Yet he is okay with spamming Infernal Gateway.
I think in 6th I read somewhere that the Dark Elves costs a bit too much in points for what they were.

Deciding on design issues for my new building:

I think I'll stay with the original design, for now ;)

In the meantime I am thinking about next steps. For instance, the windows:

Let me know what you think. If you know how to make great(visibly and in size) windows please let me know.

Okay, so I managed to get myself started in the Field Hospital last night.

Through the dedicated work of my team of surgeons, we saved the lives of several Ogre Kingdom allies who are now being monitored in ICU.

Built a start collecting Astra Militarum so i could have some punching bags for my tau

Ive also been shoving the greater good down the throats of the unenlightened gue'la

Oh yes... definitely destruction...

For those keen lore followers out there will know, Royal Mail is the faction pulling the strings behind the Chaos God's, Hashut, Khaine and are the ones supplying the Vampire Counts and Orcs/Gobbos...

;)

My Tomb Kings army book just about survived an encounter with Royal Mail when I first ordered it from Oxfam. Good job it was the hardback 8th Edition one - if it had been the 6th Edition one it would most likely have ended up in much worse shape thanks to our ignorant Tony Robinson lookalike postman

Fixed that for you

Loving that Tomb Scorpion and Swarm in the background
