What are you doing today hobbywise?

We have a date for the battle between me and my wife. The 5th of February is when it goes down, which means I have 2 weeks in order to make a combined total of 2000 points of Sylvaneth and Gloomspite Gitz look adequate. Mission accepted :artist:
Conveniently the new battletomb for the Gitz comes out in the meantime, well pre order is this weekend not sure how long "pre orders" typically take to come out.
Fortunately the 40 Grots are already done as well as a Loonboss on mangler and the newly acquired Loonking.
All that need doing on this side are the boingrot bounders and a few hoppers but even these are somewhat done.

So the rest of the night is dedicated to them.

As for the Sylvaneth, the Lady of vines needs finishing and also the awakened wild woods although this is unlikely due to lack of spray and my hate of buying spray paint. I always feel so wasteful using it :rolleyes:
 
Today I expected to find a package when I got home.

I found two.

One has Da Kunnin' Krew for my orruk warclans army...

The other is from Spain and contains some multi-part gnolls I ordered for a different army. I am loving these sculpts. They're kind of multi-part, look nice, and most important, they're the right size to fit with my old D&D Chainmail Naresh gnoll soldiers.

Went to my local store today, brought a Dankhold Troggboss for the Troggoth army that just sits around, was thinking yesterday how if I slowly work on the Troggoths so it's a small army to work with for future games compared to armies like Seraphon... well until they decide for Kroxigor battleline but that's wishful thinking. I just have hard time keeping track of things so maybe carrying on with my Troggoth army will be something in case I do get back into playing. Then there is the option of full Stegadon army, a full stampede. I do also want a full Zombie/Terrogheist army, when I find a way to get hold of more of the kits cheaper.
We also had some speculation time for today/tomorrow, he says the "Seraphon could be for Warcry but who knows" well a bit weird having a Slann for Warcry if you ask me.
I also talked about Beasts of Chaos and he wants me to try and complete them as it's rare to see a army of them. Well maybe once I find good bargains because ebay is not giving them. Just mainly want to bulk out the core units, thought of two themes to pick from either ice or fire.

But got the Troggboss to build now once I get some motivation, hopefully the reveals will give that motivation.
 
Had some time to kill in Rotterdam yesterday and visited the GW store. Knowing that new Seraphon was to be revealed today I told myself just to go watch around and talk with the staff and others present.



So I went home with an Orruk Ironjawz Weirdnob, because I did not yeet have one and my Ironjawz still are not all painted properly yet :oops::p

So far today, I looked at the LVO reveals and cheered for the new Seraphon stuff - I can FINALLY use my old 5th edition Skink Cold One Raiders as SKINK cavalry now and not proxy them for saurus knights!!! - looked thoughtfully at the warcry bands (I'm probably going to get those Flesh Hound cultists), and my wallet cringed at the Kill Team releases.

I've wanted Arbites since 3rd edition 40K ran an Arbites armylist in the Citadel Journal. I'm almost certainly going to be getting those.

Oh, and a week ago I mailed my aelfs away in a trade. Today my acquisitions arrived: Three Orruk Ironjaw Gore-Gruntas (for my Big Waagh), 10 Stormvermin (both as Stormvermin and conversion fodder for my Skaviir Dominion), and 20 grot stikkas (which will be put into my WFB Orcs and Goblins army).
 
Found a bunch of Seekers of Slaanesh without the riders, reason for that was because I like the scaly anteaters more than the Daemonettes so sold them and obviously kept the steeds.
Trying to work out what to do with them, could sell them but still that bit too attached but not keen on rebuying all the Daemonettes.
Or just keep them riderless and do a little fun project because they won't be playable with the game, the problem of liking some of the collection and not the rest. This is mainly the Seekers, the large Keeper daemons, Fiends and the Slaangors. *Edit* That I like
Got the Troggboss built, keeping the spider separate for the time being and now it makes me think on those spider armies but no. Got to try and keep army count small :bag:
Currently trying to find that one Thousand Sons Sorcerer so I can sell that with the rest of the sprue.

The Gitz forces are to a somewhat battle ready standard and I have started work on my Sylvaneth force. I just need to make the Lady of Vines look good.
Good news is I have a few days off work now so plenty of time to get them done, the bad news is I have Corona and can't concentrate on anything for too long.

You could give them some fur and MAKE tall, skinny, ride-able anteaters out of them.

I originally wasn't sure what I wanted to do with them and ended up using cheap paints and Coelia Greenshade over a Wraithbone undercoat for the flesh. So I decided to come back to them and paint a more traditional green flesh tone shown in the captain of the unit.
 
Project Dragon Warrior is a go. LOL

The goal is to build up a full 9-man retinue with jump packs, volkite chargers, and lightning claws for the purpose of a Traitor Salamanders alt list I have in mind for Horus Heresy.

The base models are Chaos Raptors with spare Mk IV torso front plates, volkite chargers from Forgeworld, and dragon skull heads from Zinge. I currently have a shortage of Mk III pauldrons, with nothing to say of the Salamanders-specific Mk III variety, so I'm waiting on a few things to show up.

I like the aesthetic of this army. Much more than (let's say) ironjawz

Agreed, not a huge fan of Warhammer Orks in general but after reading the design notes on the Kruleboyz I really started to appreciate these ones.
