...at this point, I have 2 different Skaven armies, Seraphon, Soulblight/Legions of Nagash, Troggoths, Big Waaagh (mostly old Greenskinz), and now aelfs... in the past I used to have an 8000 point Dark Elf army (for WFB).

Which Elf army are you starting? Any pictures?

Kind of? I'm doing a Wanderers-focused Cities of Sigmar army, because they're something I haven't done. I don't like the background of the Idoneth, I've done Dark Elves of all flavors for years so I'm kind of bored of them (which didn't stop me from considering Har Kuron as a choice), and the Lumineth don't appeal to me much.

This is the only pic I've taken so far. Some partly assembled Eternal Guard, and the two old metal High Elf Heroes I'm using as my Nomad Princes. Also behold the mess that is my work/computer desk.

A White Dwarf from late 2007 (before I even started the hobby - I officially began in January 2009), that came new in its original packaging (though I have since opened the packaging and thrown it away before taking this photo). What did I pay for it? Around £9 after shipping costs were added.

Yeah, I can't talk. I've been picking up old issues of White Dwarf because I like them better than the current ones. Nostalgia, probably. I started this hobby in the early 90's, so my favorite issues are from the mid- to late-90's. Like many, my absolute favorite issues have the original "Tale of Four Gamers" in them.

I do think that they don't look as bad as a lot of people say. However, I can definitely see where the "derpy" comments are coming from. While it's true that the Dark Elf Cold Ones don't look like a fantasy creature necessarily, they still look meaner and tougher than our Cold Ones. Plus, the stupidity thing is originally why they were designed to look slightly dumb, and I think that puts a lot of people off. Thankfully that's gone in AoS!
 
Did the next magnetizing. This time was my (limited) TK horsemen. I got some because I wanted to at have protection for a mounted Liche Priest, but as far as I can see they're next to useless... Maybe to block line of sight from a Cannon/Hellcannon that is on the ground?

Continued to slowly work on my Brutes. Two are almost done and the last two have base coats on. I'm hoping to be done with them by the end of the week.
 
So me and the wife finished going through all of the magic lores, including the Lizardmen High Magic, Slann abilities and all of the Lizardmen magic items.

So the next battle will be her playing Lizardmen and me using my Tomb Kings. It will still be assisted on gaming rules a lot, but she wanted to be able to make all her list choices by herself, choosing magic items and magic lore. So should be a good one!
 
Well, great news! we are going to stop struggling with the models painting! :woot:
