What are you doing today hobbywise?

Played a 1K 8th Edition battle with my wife! First game where she called the shots for her troops! Great fun.

See mini-battle report here.

Hey, has anyone got any ideas for REALLY soft foam?

I'm making magnetic storage trays out of Really Useful Boxes and magnetic strips, but I want to line the lids with really soft foam that gently presses down on the models when closed.

Thanks.

(I'm concurrently back on my magnetizing beat and making metal movement trays)

While I'm waiting for my Rot Toads to arrive and the rest of the materials for my magnetic storages, I'm continuing to magnetize my armies. Did a bunch of them last night.

I transferred my proxy Beasts of Nurgle onto proper bases on my blog. (Would appreciate any advice on the basing)

Last night, took my wife through to clarify each of the Magic Weapons and Magic Armours from the 8th Edition BRB.

Ah, sunny Pearl Harbor! What better place to hunker down below decks and build minis?

Again, mostly infantry models - a tau fireblade, a primaris apothecary, three Empire captains on foot (courtesy of left over bodies from the tedious Empire Greatswords kit I mostly built during quarantine), and a baby griffon (a one-part base accessory from the Empire General kit) - but I also polished off the High Elf mage kit I previously touched for a WFRP character by building a mounted mage, and might continue building up the mounted Empire Captain with lance and banner.

This pretty much cleared up all the unbuilt plastic kits I stripped down to sprues and bases in baggies for the deployment (I still have a Destroyer Squad to build, but they come in ziplock bags anyway).

Second I then went a bit more over the top for the new Necromantic team.
As I wanted to keep the pumpkin theme going but not the GW colour scheme I made a few changes. Dark green and orange like the pumpkins.

Lastly I did my View attachment 88072 View attachment 88073 View attachment 88074 View attachment 88075 View attachment 88076 orc team that I have had painted up for a while. Really over the top but I like the results.
Team "Black Sabborc"

Loving those teams, especially the Halloween dudes :wideyed:

Hoping to get my set of them in the mail tomorrow! In the mean time, today I am full steam ahead on my Blitz Bowl stadium :shamefullyembarrased:
