Given that the old Squats were too much like short, bearded Imperial Guardsmen, the new ones are no worse. At least the new ones are their own civilisation with sci-fi versions of Dwarf traditions, rather than just yet another arm of the Imperium as the old ones were.
That said, I do wish GW gave them more beards and Dwarf iconography and less Imperial weapons and chav-cuts. Still, kitbashing with Kharadron and other Dwarf kits is certainly an option.

Perhaps we should be grateful that GW isn't EA... at least they sell us complete kits for one price, and don't put paywalls behind specific vital parts that we need to complete the kit.
