AoS Troglodon. What to do with this.

Hello, everybody.

New question. I have bought another "start collecting" box. My intention is to assembly a Toglodon. Why? Because I like too much the model.

My doubt is, worth it? Because to use It in Range I think is better 3 salamaders or 3 Razordons. And to use It in melee maybe I should build another Carnosaur.

What do you think?
 
It is a pretty good monster to summon as it is more likely to make the charge.
It is relatively cheap.
Against unarmored hordes (like Skaven or so) it can actually do decent damage, and it hurts their bravery so they run away more easily.
It can be used as an arcane vassal by the Slann to cast spells through it.
It can be commanded by a Skink Alpha from a Stegadon (because of the Skink keyword)
It looks scary so it might act as a so-called "distraction carnifex"
It can lead a cheap Thunderquake if you need to save points.

You can build the Saurus on foot from the kit, to use as a Sunblood, Astrolith Bearer, Oldblood, or Eternity Warden.
 
Yeah I have used it the most to summon or to cheapen Thunderquake for something else. At 18 summoning points its a monster to bring in charge and as said distract.
 
Well It is a very good summon. Not as realiable as a bunch of skinks but bumch more fun and extremely cost-effetctive.
It has to be my favourite summoning choice balancing effectivenes (very high) and fun (extreme).
Moreover, everyone who is not used to playing seraphon will likely overestimate the troglodon's power, especially after seeing the spit+charge, and that helps more than a lot.
 
The Troglodon only being 140MPP makes me much more interested in taking it. The only real issue is that 3 Razordons are only 120MPP and more effective. The Trog's biggest shortfall is a complete lack of rend.

Like others have said, it is still great choice for summoning. I generally view it is as a roadblock that has a high likelihood of making a successful charge.
 
in my experience the biggest upside of the troglodon is this size. it has such an psychological effect on the opponent.
He looks like a real badass like a carnosaurus but in reality its more like a small crawler :D
