8th Ed. Tournament list 2500 - comments please!

Apologies for being late to the party, but I'll still chip in with my views here.

You were right to ditch the poor Troglodon for your tourney list, but honestly think you invested too much into Skink Skirmishers and Salamanders.

I certainly don't understand all the hype around mass Skink clouds - one or two units have their uses in baiting Frenzied units and potentially sneaking round the flanks of units to march-block them, but it requires skill to be able to implement the latter in particular without getting charged and run down, and I notice in your most recent battle report happened pretty quickly to all of your Skirmisher units before they could contribute much to the game. Also magic can be used to clear them from the board without suffering the -1 to Hit penalty that affects shooting attacks - you were fortunate your opponent brought a mainly Khorne-oriented army that avoided magic. Personally all I would go with on the Skirmishing front is perhaps 1 unit of Skirmishers to bait any Frenzied units the enemy might have, and perhaps some Chameleons which have much better chances of achieving the goal of sneaking round the flanks, march-blocking and threatening War Machines (though Terradons and Ripperdactyls can achieve this similarly well thanks to their ability to Fly), and spend the rest of the leftover points from the Troglodon on another unit of Saurus to hold the line - two units of 20+ Saurus plus the Temple Guard block would produce a solid melee-oriented core that can grind down most melee units thrown at you.

Legions of Nagash? Is that the End Times Legions of Undeath list?

Most interesting to see one of your opponents fielding Fimir, what rules is he using with those? Because I'm writing a Fimir ruleset of my own among others and be useful inspiration.
I don’t think I still have the Fimir archive, but you may pm me with your e-mail and I will send you the file If I find it.

Comments are welcone!
What magical place do you live in that still organizes 8th tourneys? I want to go there XD. List looks good, strong, only misses a Cowboy really imho. I also feel that Eternal Flame is too much of a risk against things like Phoenix Knights (its really akward if those guys smash into your TG), but against regeneration it is very strong. How did you place in the tourney? :)

My enemies in the Tournament:
- Norse (WAP)
- Lizards
- Orcs
- Empire
- Brets
- Legion of Nagash
- Fimir (yes, that is correct)
- Dogs of War (WAP)
- Dwarfs

So, I wander, will the salamanders be useful?
Also yes, always yes, they are useful. Never had them not being useful, save those few times they decide to eat their skink snacks twice in a row ;)
