Excited that, after watching the series multiple times, I have gotten my wife interested in AtLA.![]()
Topic #15 - Top Ten Movie/TV Speeches
We're looking at speeches made by movie or tv characters. Try not to include any "one-liners" as that is a topic for a different list. Aside from that, sky's the limit.
Curious to see what you guys come up with! I'll wait till a couple of lists are posted before unveiling my list.
Looking forward to your list!WOW!
This is going to be great. Love this theme.![]()

Yeah, I think it goes something like that.
Quint's Indianapolis monologue - Jaws
Yoda's "The Force" Speech - Empire Strikes Back
Darth Vader's "I Am Your Father" speech - Empire Strikes Back
William Wallace's "Freedom" speech - Braveheart
Morpheus's "What is the Matrix?" monologue - The Matrix
Agent Smith's "Virus" monologue - The Matrix
Jules's "Ezekiel" monologue (both scenes, but specifically the diner scene) - Pulp Fiction
Herb Brooks "You Were Born for This" speech - Miracle
Joker's "You Wanna Know How I Got These Scars" monologues (both scenes, but I like the "Why So Serious" scene best) - Dark Knight
Captain America's "Price of Freedom is High" speech - Captain America: Winter Soldier
Right... for me, the first five are pretty clear. I must reason on the other 5.
Al Pacino - any given sunday
Rutger Hauer - Blade Runner
Kenneth Branagh - Henry V
Robin Williams - Dead Poets Society
Marlon Brando - Apocalypse now
Thanks. I wonder if my list feels a little "lightweight" in that, it generally includes more contemporary movies and not more "classic" movie speeches (you know, like Lawrence of Arabia or something). For example, I've also not actually seen any of the movies in the list @Killer Angel posted, except Blade Runner. I've seen some scenes here and there from most of them, but not the full movies.A very solid list.
In case you haven't already searched for it on YouTubeThe only one I'm not familiar with is the Herb Brooks speech, since I've never seen that movie.
Although I know you're a big Star Wars fan, based on a few other posts, I'm going to guess the Braveheart speech made your list. One of your speeches made my list too... but which one?
I'm going to guess the Braveheart speech made your list.
