AoS This is about enough- age of sigmar

We discussed that particular rumour in one of the other threads.

Well, The way I read it, the author contradicts himself in the same post. He says there is no mention of a skirmish game, yet the mechanics he describes are exactly what I call, a skirmish game.

In my oppinion, that pretty much sums up the validity of the post. ATM, the only thing I trust is the round bases. All the rest, well, we'll just have to wait and see....

I think you're right... that rumour seems a little sketchy.

I think "Age of Sigmar: a Warhammer strategy game" pretty much tells us "This is not actual warhammer".

Either that, or there are actually two mechanics in the same book. If they add a new game mechanic, then it would make sense to remove all the army books. They would need an extreme overhaul if the new system is not compatible with the old one

It's going to be a stand alone game. Or a warhammer "variant" if you prefer. The next release will be a more traditional warhammer game.

As far as i have heard, people have dismissed this rumor as a 4chan troll or something. Apparently the word "nigmo", the name of the new O&G sub race, also means a homosexual black person amongst the cool youths these days. There are also several contradictions besides this, such as both O&G and Lizardmen being the servants of the old ones.

Not to mention - why change WHF into something so far away from WH40K? Wouldn't you want people to at least somewhat recognize your game? If GW is all about money why change the game in such a drastic way that they now longer have any similarities? There are countless of people who've started WH40K and gotten interested in WHF and vice versa, it would make no sense to go further away from that.

With that said I do believe there are just a bit of truth in that rumour, mostly fluff wise though.

Yeah I feel the same way, allthough removing all the army books at ones is a bit misterious

Yeah I feel the same way, although removing all the army books at ones is a bit mysterious
Maybe, but it is the one of the few facts there is to ponder. Also:
  1. They did this before when five changed to six. (But with more effort to communicate and less secrecy and dread.)
  2. They published Ravening Hordes at the beginning of six, it was new, bare bones lists for all armies.
  3. Escalation Leagues and the various attempts at small, low initial expense Warhammer are not a totally new idea.

Well to throw some more fuel on the fire...

Sounds like a send off to me. IF this rumour turns out to be true, it's more evidence hinting at the death of Warhammer as we know it. :(

Ugh. I hope that rumor isn't true. IF true: Sell me a rulebook, Games Workshop, or a setting-book, or a novel. Don't try to sell me a book about how great that game you used to make used to be.

I have to admit, while I still do not believe it, the wrong kind of rumors are piling up

Funny you should mention that... in the same thread the conversation continues...

I thought the reply was epic! :D

LOL I approve! And re: the first part: I was pretty sure that the "classic art" would be recycled things we've seen in a dozen publications already (I'm looking at you, Battle of Karak-Eight-Peaks), so I'm glad to see other people thinking the same ;):penguin:

Hahaha... they have time to make this, but an updated FAQ is definitely out of the question.

Maybe the appendix will be a comprehsive, collated, combined :smuggrin:15 army FAQ. The penultimate FAQ. (Which will of course need an errata; :banghead: they are bound to miss something.)

For some reason the GW website, if you click on "Warhammer," has a block on the left sidebar for the "Warhammer 40,000 Armies" filter, where the only item is the Dark Angels codex eBook pre-order.

I'm 99% sure that's just a glitch, bug, or screw-up, but... <_< ... >_> ... ./puts on tinfoil hat . . . SPACE MARINE STYLE ROUND BASES CONFIRMD!!!!

:rolleyes::hilarious::wtf:
