I remain by my previous flicker. Y'all are crazy.
Back on topic however, I don't think it's a "secret" that Cold One Cav are weird. The problem that they have, as with any true Cavalry model, is that they only have one wound. Each model is precious in the unit, so any casualty really effects their potential. They have all these special rules, they cost a pretty penny, and by the time you get to field them you feel like crying when they don't get to do what the Old Ones willed them to.
I still take them. I <3 dinosaurs that ride dinosaurs.
I gotta take the blame on the Kroxigors. I've started up a couple of Kroxigor threads. They're one of my favourite units fluff & model-wise, so I'm always trying to find a place for them in my army. I like discussions involving Kroxigor tactics/uses/weaknesses as well as more theoretically flavoured discussions exploring how they could be improved. Is it just me or do we have a lot of threads lately about how our units are kinda underpowered for their point cost? Saurus Warriors, Bastiladons, Cold One Riders, (S)Kroxigors?
Cold One Cavalry are definitely prime candidates for buffs because of the sheer number of attacks they can dish out. Wyssan's Wildform is game breaking on them as both the saurus and cold ones benefit greatly. The light spells you mentioned are also fantastic... especially if you could ever manage to cast both at once (though either of them are still amazing on their own).Anyway, back on topic - I feel like Cold One Riders (like Saurus Warriors) could benefit a ton from a Slann w/ Lore of Light... assuming he rolls Birona's Timewarp or Speed of Light. Next time I play Lizardment I'm going to try a unit of CORs with an Oldblood, a block of Saurus Warriors (with a Scar-Vet) with the Skavenpelt Banner, and a Light Slann. (and other stuff too, but they're beside the point) I'm optimistic that the sheer number of potential attacks from either of those units will help, or at least confuse the enemy into committing to fighting one, while the other exploits some vulnerability![]()
Package 2
- Give them spears as default
- Magic banner option.
- light armor option

Any unit in the game benefits greatly from _insert buff here_ naturally.
.
You're right, they're definitely a strange unit.Personally I just find the CoRs to be a weird unit - they have the potential for a ridiculous damage output, but due to their low initative they risk dying before they deliver their payload.
Either improve their rate of hitting or their survivability. Flesh to Stone anyone? For instance I find kroxigors to be a weird unit to augment. Mostly I'd just want them to gain a +1 To Hit![]()
Deadly!spears + wyssan's wildform sounds all kinds of interesting![]()
I wouldn't hold my breath for that one!what I want is actually CoR to keep their current pricing, and become equally better than wild riders....that is very much what I want!
