I think the easy combination would be:

$5 - Gandalf
$4 - Aragorn
$4 - Legolas
$3 - Gimli
$2 - Sam
$1 - Merry

Almost all of the others have already actively tried to take the ring but failed, including Boromir. Pippin is more of a nuisance anyway.
In the end it is questionable what Frodo really attributed to the destruction of the ring, he mostly got carried by Sam throughout the journey.
