So Spider-Man will never meet Ironman, for instance? (In a movie...)

They did meet already, in at least one movie. (Infinity War).

Disney and Sony had a deal, which is why we saw them together on screen in Civil War, Infinity War
and Endgame.
. That deal has come to an end and they have (so far) been unsuccessful in agreeing to terms for a new deal.

Apparently the existing deal was that Sony would pay for all the Spiderman movies and Marvel/Disney would get a 5% off the opening week box office of Spiderman movies.

Disney wanted to change the deal to they front up 50% of the production costs and get 50% of the profit. Sony wanted the original deal to stay. Neither side made a counter offer. The negotiations went like this.

The best and worst case scenarios for Marvel fans are below.

I cannot speak for everyone. I cannot speak for everyone but I am indifferent to Dr. Strange, Captain Marvel, Natalie Portman as Thor. I am not indifferent to Ant Man and Guardians of the Galaxy but my interest in these characters is waning. Spider-man (Spiderman?) is the only Marvel franchise I remain truly interested in. Spiderman Far From Home teed up a very intriguing premise for a sequel.

But given that Spiderman is working with SHIELD, carrying a bunch of Tony Stark's gadgets, his aunt is dating an MCU character, and his character is based largely on the Thanos snap, it would be nigh impossible to make a new Spiderman movie without rebooting it. You don't reboot something that is good, you reboot something that is bad (like the Amazing Spiderman franchise).

Also, we can talk about things on threads that @NIGHTBRINGER didn't start. I created a Spiderman thread that everyone is ignoring even though I baited it with a Star Wars hook.
