Unfortunately, this is very true. Doesn't mean that you should stop being fair though.

For the record, humans keep shooting lions. Which probably if I thought about that a bit more would add more weight to the meme.

Maybe "There are always assholes around you. Just be prepared for that." or something.

Or "The lion is the king of the jungle. But even he keeps getting shot by assholes."

Something like that.
