The never-ending battle against woke Hollywood and SJW infused entertainment media [trigger warning]

The top comment on Youtube is:

"Thirty years ago Willow and Val kilmer journeyed the world, risked their lives to save a baby who later grew up to end her ancestral lineage."

Anyway, after Disney murdered Star Wars, them destroying Lucas Film's second best product is not half as shocking.

Can someone explain to me what this thread is?

An outpost of democracy against the tyranny of the woke Red Menace :D

Or in other words, a thread for those of us who have sensed a disturbance in our countries' governments, educational establishments and media giants caused by left-wing takeover, and who wish to bring balance to the Force by standing up for our own views on the matter.

Not compulsory to join if you don't agree with our views, of course, but the more of us who stand up and resist attempts by wokists to brainwash the general populace, the more of a chance we'll have at achieving something.

Ah, ok. Well. US based thoughts below:

I'm a progressive. I generally vote blue.

No offense, but most of what has come out of the grand old party/ conservative government (In the US at least) is batshit insane.

Don't get me started on Trump or DeSantis, for example.

As a Briton, I'm on the fence with regards to the specific views of the American parties, though I feel genuinely sorry for you lot having hit rock bottom with your choice of Presidents - on one side a senile old nanny goat, on the other a corporate bully boy with more than a passing resemblance to Biff Tannen - but over on my side of the pond the near-right voices are the only voices of sanity around here. Too bad they keep getting obstructed by the European Court of Anti-British Rights and all manner of individuals whose humanitarianism stops them from seeing the big picture of what's going on and needs to be done.

Its not just that he's a corporate bully boy.

The GOP has lost its mind and is spiraling into hate to maintain votes. They are actively sabotaging any decent legislation from going though.

Frankly, we haven't had any decent legislation go through. AND WE HAD ALL 3 SILMARILS of the US government. (Ok, bad analogy, but house + senate + executive.)

We should have gotten more done.

There is so much I could say about this, but this thread is focused on politics only as it pertains to its inclusion in (infection of) movies/tv/comics/video games/hollywood/etc. We've got plenty of other threads focusing on "hard" politics.

Don't get me started on Trump or DeSantis, for example.
I'll trade you our Trudeau for your DeSantis! :)

Exactly.
@Lord-Marcus You can or cannot be interested in politics and you can or cannot be of a certain political side.
But if (for example) you are deeply annoyed by the fact that Mulan must be remade making her a girl with magical abilities, that is inherently superior to any man so she doesn't need to overcome her weakness by training, then this is the thread you're looking for.

our Trudeau indeed. I'm half canadian. I follow (roughly) the great white north as well. Despite living in america's twig and berries (Florida)

Are you sure you tagged the right guy? I think that's where the confusion is coming from, you tagged @Canas seemingly out of nowhere.
yeah, I'm just confused as to why I'm tagged in a random thread at page 44 :p

Ahahahah... yes, i've wrongly tagged @Canas :hilarious: (fixed it now)

On the bright side, now he knows of this thread too :p

This thread is focusing on how activism and the culture war impacts movies. We are mainly lamenting a loss of entertainment.

This thread is not intended to debate which American (or British) political party or ideology is the lesser of two (or more) evils.

For instance. James Cameron said something stupid and offensive.

“If this movie doesn’t make 2 billion it is a massive flop.”

Men are terrible and I spent all this money to show them how activism is great and they suck.

I used to think James Cameron was smart. I don't agree with him on everything but I thought he understood general audiences. Now I believe he has lost his way or he never had it.
