They used to have another troll, as recent as last year, must have gone out of production, I would use the snotling troll markers, and if you play AOS you can always get the rockgut or fell water troggoths. Then you'll have a variety of trolls to use.

Eh... I wouldn't use the rockguts. Even fellwaters are pushing it for model size in a game where, for the longest while, you needed to be mindful of both the model's base size (no bigger than 40mm wide) and the amount of space it takes up laying down on both its front and back sides (GW's token "attempt" at rectifying this is middling at best).

The Fell water are definitely better, but the rockguts just got on the 40 mm bases, and with the new GW tokens, or other rings Like the Charlie Victor ones it's still very playable, but I get what you mean. They are quite a bit bigger than most blood bowl models

As president of our gaming association (we're 140), i'm gonna promote it to newcomers.
It's just that i don't think i'll ever play it.

You guys have 140 members in your gaming group? All local?

How can you promote it if you have never at least given it a chance?

Yep, in a radius of 30-40 km. But the majority resides around 1-20 km.
Around 50 are into warhammer, the rest RPG, cards and board games

How can you promote it if you have never at least given it a chance?

I explain that we have a lot of games, and introduce the newcomers to the ones in charge of the specific game/s

There are some out there, I think recasts, or if you like, there's always third party options. I like the Brutefun Trolls, if you have a 3D printer, or you can find them pre-printed on Etsy, and I think on the Bonehead shop.

That is pretty epic. I'm guessing that getting a game in is pretty easy with that many players. And you're the president!

I've seen quite a few third party sculpts and some are truly great. The problem is that they very often differ in style. They look great among themselves, but don't fit well with the Games Workshop range. I do really like the Punga range, and their trolls from the Night Dodgers team might fit well.

As of Season 3, Prayers to Nuffle are incredible.

I've been looking through them and you are so right. They seem like a steal at only 10k a piece. If they weren't random they would be totally overpowered.

Some of my favorties are Iron Man, Knuckle Dusters, Bad Habits, Blessing to Nuffle, Moles Under the Pitch, Fan Interaction, Fouling Frenzy, Under Scrutiny and Intensive Training (with a good roll).

Perfect Passing and Dazzling Catching are situational depending on the team being fielded.

I bet you guys play all manner of game systems. Which is the most popular?

i was there since the beginning, almost 40 years ago, when we were just a group of 6 friends that every saturday afternoon was used to meet in our parents' house.
Then we worked to have a place for ourselves... it was a long journey, made with continuous improvements and forming a larger group, around 15-20 people.
Plus, there were a couple of clubs in our area that were supported by gaming stores... but when those store failed, the players were left without a place to play, while we were able to offer said place.
And one of those club was warhammer related, and i was playing with those guys. Even then, the WH players were barely 15. Now we are 50.


The most popular games are 40k and D&D, but that's the current state of the art.
6 years ago, the most popular miniature games would have been AoS.
And we also have a couple of game designers... people that have their own (published) RPG. So, D&D is the game sistem that lures new players, but we offer a vast array of choices.
For example, every month we host a special event: "RPG a la carte"... basically, there is a theme (for example, christmas), and there are 4 masters that present 4 different game systems and four different adventures, all centered around that theme. Each player, knowing the game system and the "blurb" of each adventure, decides what suits him
