The GREAT 40k thread

pretty sure @Canas would appreciate the idea.

There are 6 objectives.

the main ones (the warp portal for the Chaos and the fortified tower for the imperium) give additional points at the end of the battle if you manage to capture the enemy's.

The river is not passable, unless the unit can fly. The only way you can cross the river with non-flyers is via the bridges, and 2 of them are also objectives.

the 2 "transmission towers" are objectives, and if you take control of the one in the enemy's territory, you can also perform actions that damages the opponent (for example, the Chaos players by using an imperial code, they would decide where to move an imperial unit)
Looks good, the only thing missing is a more coherent narrative. Right now it reads as if both sides are attackers, with a fairly symmetrical battleground.
Maybe the portal side is the attackers; and they get a different bonus for controlling the various objectives (e.g. controlling the portal gives the attackers some minor reinforcements each turn, controlling the fortress gives the defenders a big gun, that sorta thing.)

Also, are there 2 bridges, or more than 2?

And minor sidenote; be carefull with how many flyers you allow. I can imagine that certain army lists will just ruin the entire thing by simply ignoring the river :p

More or less yes, they both are "attackers".
Abaddon and his allies were testing a device made by vashtorr and now need to crush and capture the imperial fortress.
The strike squad composed by grey knights and custodes was there to try to inflict a cripping blow to those forces.

3 bridges, but only 2 were worth points. The central one was not... but being central it was already useful for granting board control

Nah, that would be normally a risk, but i knew the players and their armies. ;)

On a side note, the next apocalypse will be highly asimmetrical... the devastation of Baal!

Ah, Tallarn Mukali Riders... shame they got axed. Rough Riders in general are in the awkward state of having all of two different sculpts available to them right now, and only one of them conditionally fits in thematically with at least part of the rest of the range (Krieg Death Riders, specifically).

For my tallarn army i use these boys. They come also with the scimitar option.
