Truly, the loyalists shall tremble before their footsteps.
Very impressive! What did you make it out of? If it isnt too demanding i might try myself
Just as an aside, GW have forgotten to release the plastic Flayed Ones and Crypteks they had planned to give Necrons in another wave of releases. They must give us what we have earned, before they can move onto nancy-boy Blood Angels and degenerate Dark Eldar. My will be done!
7 tyranids don't need a lord of war. And the 2 we have are best suited for apocalypse anyways. Heirophant and harradan both do entirely different things when they're the lord of war.
It may just be my experience with Horus Heresy tournament scenes, but Lords of War are the kind of thing I expect to see limited by the battle size.
From personal experience, it's relatively rare to see LoWs show up in games as small as 2500pts, and those that show up have been under the rule of thumb that a Lord of War cannot exceed 20%-25% of the battle size point value in a given list. Of course, the pricetag on going large in Horus Heresy is also a limiting factor - few people on the tournament scene will fork out the cash for a Forge World falchion or warhound titan unless they really like the model.
It won't stop some people from trying to cheese a double-typhon list at smaller scales for instance (not fun getting pie-plated off the table with 10" blasts), but such people make themselves known really quickly for all the wrong reasons anyway.
Don't get me wrong: I admire GW's push to make the larger game modes more accessible with the plastic kits. I just don't think they're handling it properly with how much that gets circulated back into their base games.
Yeah, i would really like to see a limitation around 25% of the total points.
After all, to field a low is a luxury that comes at the cost of 3cps and also hampers the generic buffs for the rest of the army (as some things are available only if the whole army comes from the same place).
I also didn't know that you had to pay Command Points to field a Lord of War, that's another measure that helps to put a limit on LoW arm's races and that's a good thing.
Yeah, unless you're fielding Guilliman or some named chaos primarch (which can be included in the army with no restrictions, except that they must be the general), to use a LoW requires the superheavy detachment and that costs 3 cps
Well, that's better than nothing, I suppose, but I certainly think they should do more, especially with the Primarchs because that's getting ridiculous
