I liked everything in the new 52 animated series so far and Hush is an iconic storyline. I'm hoping DC Universe will host it so I don't have to have to pay to buy it. They put most of their other stuff on it.
They haven't put Batman and the Teenaged Mutant Ninja turtles movie on DC Universe yet but they did put up the original crossover comic which is basically the same storyline and it was awesome.
I also read over 100 comic books from the Injustice Gods Among Us series that is a prelude to the famous video game. It was magnificant. The video game made it look like Superman became General Zod overnight but it took a very long story arc to get him there, one compromise at a time.
I think the comic books is where I got my money's worth for DC Universe. The movies and shows are good, but there is
not quite enough of them to justify the money I spent on it.
I also have been reading some of Batwoman's recent comic. It's very different from the CW show. I don't have an origin comic but she isn't trying to steal Batman's imagery and legacy, she is working with Batman. At the same time, she isn't overshadowed directly by Batman because she doesn't do the smae things he does.
The story arc I'm reading. Batman got a lead on a powerful international drug cartel/weapons dealer/closet eugenics bad guy but he cannot easily go after it because these villains move around the world a lot and Batman has to defend Gotham City from the gazillion things that afflict Gotham City. So Batwoman flies around the world fighting super powered gangsters in exotic locations.
And pretty much all superheroes have personal issues. It just so happens that Batwoman's love interests are female. No big deal. This is how you add new social justice to existing franchises. You use a new character with his/her own adventures.
That is WAY more badass than watching not-Batman re-tread Batman's old adventures. But CW cannot afford to have Batwoman fight in the slums of Rio de Janerio for two episodes then the upscale areas of Paris, then the jungles of Borneo. So CW is doing cliche grimdark in a generic big city.
EDIT: w00t! Hush movie is confirmed to be coming to DC Universe in August.
