I need some clarification here...at some point I thought that Temple Guard were a core choice when they were taken with a slann but for the life of me I can't find that in the new rule book..
Why not try using jungle swarm? the are small and unbreakableplus you can have as many as you want just as long you keep the minimum number of core troop since they don't count towards core anymore.
