I maybe wrong but dont stomps get allocated like shooting?

I think this formation could also work with skinks with a chief. have a champ and run them 2 wide 5 deep. this will mean that when they strike you they will only have 8 models max that can attack and will only be able to strike the chief or champ meaning that there should be plenty of attacks back.

Stomps inflict an auto hit with an enemy infantry, warbeast or swarm in base contact with the model.

I would like to run some skink chiefs on terradons but they just eat up too many points, perhaps when i get bored of scar vets.

Once, in a low points game (like 750), I had a skink chief on a Terradon with some magic sword that challenged and killed a VC character. This was before the release of the new VC. His army proceeded to crumble then. It was awesome. He did not think the skink could kill his character. I do not remember the build that I used. It was also not a very experienced VC player too.

Something like the gold sigil sword or sword of might, potion of speed/strength/foolhardiness, maybe a charmed shield to bounce a cannon ball.
