The days are getting longer and we are approaching Chotec's moment of greatest power, so it is time for our twice/year Poetry contest.
This contest is running concurrently with the July-August 2023 Short Story Contest, you are encouraged to enter, read, and vote in both.
The Theme
There is none. Choose whatever theme you like so long as it is at least somewhat related to Lizardmen, Seraphon, Salamanders, Rangos, or Saurian Ancients.
There is an unofficial theme to make this Summer and/or Chotec focused, but that is a recommendation, not a requirement.
The Rules
There are none. (Apart from the following)(So in actual fact there are some rules, I lied to you, I am not sorry and will certainly lie to you again in the future.)
-Keep your poem to an artistic minimum. Word count won't be stressed about too much in here, but ideally the poem should be more than two lines.
-Keep it anonymous. Don't use your own name in the poem or use someone else's name throw them off the scent
-Keep Lizardmen in the story or some aspect of their world / lore. Brief lizard mentions are acceptable.
-Keep visuals and images to a minimum or none at all this is a poetry competition.
-Keep em' coming
-Multiple entries are allowed from the same person!
(limit of three per person though just for sanity's sake)
-Submission deadline is August 16th, midnight US central time. To submit, please send a private message to me, Scalenex.
Assuming there is still demand for poetry contests, the next poetry contest will bein mid December, give or take a few weeks.
