Blog Suds Painting & Kitbashes of 2020

So I saw this today and it sparked the question of...can my Thunder Lizard be a thing now? Can I make it a mount for a Priest/Seer Skink with unique rules? Does this also mean it would be legal in actual GW play?

I asked the Lustria Online discord and there seems to be a thought that yes all of this is possible...

What do you think?

In this article on Warhammer Community it says
"[...] or a massive Gargantuan Beast like a dragon or a Manticore. These companions can be further customised with abilities that you can purchase with your destiny points."

One could argue that your Thunder Lizard is bigger than a Manticore, but as this class of Bestial Companion goes by the name Gargantuan Beast I'd say you can legally field your Thunder Lizard. I'm glad for you!

If she must only be 400 points then I feel like I should maybe make her base smaller since the Dread is what... 540 points?

Also feel like I cant make her wounds as high as I'd like? Should I just keep her at 28 wounds?

It seems to me, given what the article says for matched play "the models cost is 10x the amount of destiny points you spent"

This leads me to believe that you could create a stronger hero by taking more destiny points and just having them be more expensive on the board

Meaning I'd take 60 or 80 destiny points and make my Thunder Lizard/Seer hero 600 or 800 points

Apparently it must be 400 points?
Yes, that's what I'd expect.

It depends on the interpretation of this part (until we've finally got the General's Handbook 2020 in our hands):
"You’ll decide by choosing whether to take 20 or 40 destiny points to build your character."
20 or 40 points could be an example or this are the exact two options you've got. I tend to interpret it as 20 or 40 points beeing the only two options to choose from.

There is some perspective here, curious to see how this turns out.

Update on my Ghurian Horned Carnosaur:

As many as you know Ive been working on a Carnosaur kitbash/conversion and as many as you know its tail broke after my cat ran into the shelf. Fast forward a week or so and here we are :) Instead of getting pissed I took it as an opportunity to do certain pieces individually which I already thought were going to be difficult, in the end it worked out for the best I think.

We are getting close to being able to reartch the tail blades/sails now, so thats pretty exciting! Just a small preview of one of the tail fins being dry fitted on :)

C&C always welcome and Encouraged!

She looks great! (I love how it’s a she! There should a Double-Frenzy rule for when you have a female Carnosaur! Much more dangerous than the male!)
My Temple Hosts Dinos are from Jurassic Park, all females ;) lol

I did actually model my Troglodons after Male and Female variants and thats where it kinda started... lol

Thank you!

The Start of my "Koatl Warrior" or "Koatl Rider" or "Koatl Priest"... Haven't decided yet on the official name yet

But here is work on the head, taking two bits from my Fyreslayers to make a feathered headdress to represent a Koatls feathered head and the icon of a Koatl head (or how I am viewing them for this project lol)20200710_104559.jpg

That is a great idea! You're never not doing conversions, are you?

Here's some updates on the new guy(after he broke once due to butterfingers):

Edit: After looking at these pictures I just realized I still need to do the two smaller wings for the Koatl itself lol

Update & Almost Done :)

Pictures show Spear-Staff and before I added the top part to it on the Koatl

I may add a few more things, but over all I think I am done with this hero. It might end up being a pain to paint, but that's ok, I love how its turning out.
