7th Ed. stegadons stand and shoot?

okay, im still new to the new rules, but stegadons, particular the Ancient Stegadns with large blowpipes can stand and shoot right???? just trying to make sure, as i know warmachines cant, but NEITHER the giant bow or blowpipes say they cant. so they should be able to right???

well they aren't warmachines, and it you are certain it doesn't say that in the rule book then I can't see why not.. It has never come up for me, so I can't verify one way or another.

may have to ask the rulesboys. that should mean the giant bow can SAS as well.

my opponents have this nasty habit of going, "those do what???? oh, well were all going to run over here" I rarely get to engage anything any more, but I did take down a charging giant with one SAS action.

It is definitely something that needs to be clarrified in the FAQ, whenever that comes. Neither are warmachines so should be able to fine, but the giant bow does say it 'fires like' a bolt thrower. This doesn't explicitely call it a warmachine, so it is a bit iffy. Discuss with your opponent before the battle, or roll a d6 for it if it comes up during a battle.

if you quote something, quote it right.

it says it PENETRATES ranks as a bolthrower. there for it is not a bolthtorwer, and so not a warmachine.
this is the one sentence in the stegadon ruling that gives us the right to say it is actually not a warmachine. if it was , then GW would have said , the giant bow is treated as a bolthrower with S5 and poisened attacks.


until the errata says something else, i consider the howdah weapons as light big weapons and so can SAS, MAS etc..
