8th Ed. Starting up Lizards soonish.

Planning on starting up lizards soonish and here is the list I am thinking of for starters:
Lords (385):
Slann w/
Becalming cognition
Focus of Mystery
Battle Standard


Hero (336):
Scar-vet w/ Light Armour
Enchanted Sheild
Dawnstone
Carnosaur

Core (568):

24 Saurus Warriors w/ Musician and Standard

24 Saurus Warriors w/ Musician and Standard

Special (460):

20 Temple Guard w/ Full Command

Bastiladon w/ Solar Engine

Rare (250):
Ancient Stegadon w/ Sharpened Horns & Stampede


Suggestions? Thoughts?

I believe at the points value, and with the beasties you've chosen, that some kind of a warmachine hunter is nessecary.

Terradons receive praise on these forums (though i've never used them), and chameleon skinks are another excellent option (which i have tried with succes).

I haven't played a tonne of games, but i am certain you're gonna want at the very least 1 unit of chamo's and 2 units of 10 skinks with your pick of BP or Jav / shield.

The skinks are a very good unit, and they're absurdly cheap.


Otherwise i think it looks fine... it's just without warmachine hunters your beasties won't make it to your enemy before they die, and you don't even have skinks to screen them.

I miss the champion in the saurus lists because they can tie up very strong foes (e.g., a dragon, a daemon prince) for a turn. Furthermore, the lack of skink priest with a dispel scroll may bite you in the butt in essential situations.

Agree that the list needs redirectors in the skink skirmishers. Cant do without them really.
