7th Ed. starter wood elf help

Okay strange thing, started dating a girl who shows interest in warhammer. Mainly wood elves because they have teh best looking horses in her opinion. I'm not one to argue I chose lizardmen cause skink crests are cool as well as the mayan theme.

Anyways my questiong any idea on a good way to make a starter army (between 500 and 100) that is cav heavy and maybe spirit?

She's right about the horses.

Honestly, I'd suggest starting with the battalion and a hero blister (mounted lord would be my recommendation. LA, shield, HotH, one of the spears. then you can either throw him in with the GRs for now or add some Wild Riders later). That'll give her a nice solid core to build around, and even in a forest spirit-themed list, it's fairly uncommon that I won't have at least a few GG hanging out. Those Glade Guard longbows are just too good to pass up.

Also, for a little while later on, if she decides this is something she wants to keep doing, point her in the direction of asrai.org, they being the big WE community out here in the Wired. The place is on-par with what we have here, in terms of content and quality.

The 'how do I get girls interested in warhammer?' question is a well-trodden path on forums like these. If she's already had her interest piqued by WE Horses, then you're halfway there.

She might prefer the Gaming, Painting, Modelling or Background side(s) of things, so find out which one it is and promote that part. So the shopping list should be the WE Batallion, Army Book and Hero on a cool horse.
