I have been playing Warhammer for a few years now, but always before as a dwarf player. My friend talked my girlfriend and I into a battalion box campaign, and she chose Lizardmen. However, I don't think she's going to actually try the game out, and that I may end up playing Lizardmen instead of the Ogre Kingdoms army that I originally intended. This isn't a huge problem for me, as I dont really know either army well.
So far she has bought the Batallion, and has been given an army book, 2 skink priests and a skink chief.
My initial thoughts, after reading the army book, are to split the saurus into 2 blocks of 10, and along with my temple guard form a decent battle line. My big problem is that I am not used to playing a mobile army, so is it better to use the skinks as a sort of sort of mobile hit and run unit, or, do I stick them in my battle line interspersed between my temple guard and saurus? And am I correct in thinking of the mounted saurus as a flanking unit? These are all fairly new concepts to me, as I play a dwarf gunline, with lots of warmachines. Also character wise, would I be better off converting a saurus to lead the army, or sticking with the chief?
I have no idea of the starting points limit for the campaign, though I do know I will be facing the new tomb kings book and dark elves. Any help I could get would be greatly appreciated.
As an aside, this is my first post.
