Anybody else re-watching all the previous movies before seeing the new one?

I have re-watched EP7 but not the others. I only watch them once or twice a year.

Well I've just seen Episode VIII! Thanks to someone I know having won a BAFTA, I was able to go see it with cast and director and everything before it actually came out! And I can reassure you, it might well be the best yet. I won't give any spoilers, but I have asked Rian Johnson a question which he was kind enough to answer, that has laid to rest hundreds of fan theories. It's safe to say that the next trilogy after this one will be in safe hands

Hmmm..... maybe in one or two weeks we can make a topic to discuss it.
With HUGE spoiler warning in the title of course, and still spoiler tags inside the posts or something... Because I may want to discuss stuff with y'all. :D

I'll be going to see it on Tuesday, so I'll give you my verdict then. I'm certainly looking forward to seeing the duel between Finn and Phasma as seen in the trailer! And Snoke - desperate to find out who he is! PLEASE nobody spoil it!

I just back from the movie, it was great! Without giving anything away, I can tell you that the Porgs do not ruin the movie.

I had a feeling the Porgs wouldn't be like the Ewoks @NIGHTBRINGER, as they are simple creatures like furry birds whereas the Ewoks were a sentient race of teddy bears that somehow manage to beat enemies 10000 years more advanced than they are.

You certainly have some contacts! That's brilliant to hear that the next trilogy will be something different! :joyful:

To be honest I already felt that scene dragged on for too long in the actual movie.
Standing there that long saying nothing just staring at her felt really creepy to me. A few seconds longer and I would have yelled "SAY SOMETHING, CREEPY OLD DUDE!!!"
I mean, he is standing there for... dunno... 15 seconds or longer. Go ahead and try that in real life.

Agreed. The Episode 7 ending was really cheesy as opposed to the other 6 episodes and a Rogue One, which all had really good endings. I was really expecting Luke to say "Who are you?" or something similar.

Just rewatched Episode VII Last night... :stig:
I can't wait to see how they start the next one.

I knew nothing about them (I tried to avoid as many potential spoilers as possible) prior to the film. They are just there for a light comedic effect and of course to sell toys!

They are definitely not like the Ewoks. I always hated those damn Ewoks! Did you know that the Ewoks were originally supposed to be Wookies?

That was before they changed their mind and made Wookies a more advanced species.

I liked the originals better... :(

::ducks under the blaster bolts::

Wish I did have time though. Adding Rogue One in there between the two series and the third series now, that would be 8 movies!

I am not worried about the porg as much as what Mark Hamill said about Luke Skywalker:

“I at one point had to say to Rian, ‘I pretty much fundamentally disagree with every choice you’ve made for this character. Now, having said that, I have gotten it off my chest, and my job now is to take what you’ve created and do my best to realize your vision.'”

Very concerning for me. I am worried that the movie will be all about the nostalgia and amazing graphics, but not enough plot or memorable characters.

I haven't seen the new movie yet, maybe next week? o_O
