I’d view both to be valid reasons
I wouldn’t be surprised if Disney do repeat this cheap and lazy tactic after people swooned over Grogu in The Mandalorian, instead of aiming to improve the story or introduce a compelling villain.

I played through both Force Unleashed and Force Unleashed 2.
Really enjoyed them. I thought it was a great story.
Ending was a bit weird of the second one...
I loved being able to use the super-powered force abilities once you had your energy charged up.
