Obi-Wan > Luke
Kylo Ren <<< Darth Maul
Han
> Lando
Darth Vader > Obi-Wan
Palpatine >>> Snoke
Boba Fett <<< Chewbacca
Padme < Leia
Jango < Boba Fett
Anakin < Luke
R2-D2
> BB-8
Again, the same as my list. Although, I must confess, if I took these one at a time without knowing what pairing was coming next, I might have a harder choice. I would likely choose Luke over Obi-Wan and I might have considered Boba Fett over Chewbacca.

To the Jango vs. Boba comments. This is a tricky question b/c there would be no Jango without first having Boba Fett, but Jango did have more action in the PT than Boba in the OT. I agree that it was mostly the cool armor, the original husky/whispered voice and the mystery behind the character of Boba Fett. But, he is still a character that poses a threat to the heroes (more so than Stormtroopers), even if much of it is implied threat. Boba was sharp enough to recognize Han's clever hiding tactic and out maneuver him. He was quick to raise his blaster to shoot Chewie, before being stopped. He helped lure Luke into Vader's trap. From that, I think the audience is meant to infer that he is dangerous and has skill. I know that he gets punked out in RotJ, but at least for a short time in that scene, he's the only bad guy to frustrate the heroes. I always felt like it was the Force flowing among the heroes that thwarted the bad guys in that scene... sometimes in wacky ways I guess.

I maintain that every "Mandalorian" since then (including Jango and the Mandalorian show) is a proxy for Boba Fett and how people imagined what his cool exploits must have been.

Plus, any villain who falls into a pit or down a shaft is NEVER dead in Star Wars. Heck, I'm sure Disney will bring back Phasma in something.

even if much of it is implied threat.
This is the truth of it. You can see it through the ways in which the other characters act around him. It is obvious that he has the respect of Vader and Boba doesn't snivel in front of him like many others do. If you changed nothing about the character in the OT other than giving him an epic hard fought death in ROTJ, we wouldn't even be having this discussion. Unfortunately, his "death" was so goofy and silly that it stained the character.

We'll see if the Book of Boba Fett can build upon him. I have heard mixed things about it, the latest of which is bad in the form of
these goofy looking "power ranger" mopeds from the latest episode:

Who the hell thought that was a good inclusion in Star Wars?

Agreed. I didn't care that much when I was a kid that Boba Fett's defeat was goofy, but I see it now.

Also, to be fair, I thought ALL of those bounty hunters looked bad @$$ and I wanted to know more about each of them. So cool!

Oh no! Seriously? Sigh...

EDIT: I was REALLY hoping this was a Photoshop joke, but no, it was actually in the show. :banghead:

Empire Strikes Back was in my opinion the best of the Star Wars movies because it was the most subtle and the least Flash Gordon-y.

The scene where you see Vader's bald scarred head was brief and communicated a lot without words.

Empire Strikes Back built Boba Fett up and Return of the Jedi kind of knocked him down. He was also really popular in the expanded universe novels.

Anyway, subtle. You don't see Boba Fett doing much besides smelling out Han's fake out, but you got Darth Vader killing officers left and right for screw ups.

Vader wagging his finger at Boba Fett and saying "no disintegrations" and Bob Fett answering back curtly in that short scene.

1) Boba Fett worked with Vader before
2) At some point Boba Fett killed someone Vader wanted alive.
3) Vader had thought that Boba Fett was useful enough that killing him was a bad idea. If you think about it, killing a lowlife bounty hunter should be a lot easier and less problematic than killing a senior officer on your staff and killing morale.
4) Boba Fett was able to talk back to Vader and Vader accommodated his desires.

Also, Boba Fett's armor looked awesome.

Then in Return of the Jedi he got beaten by a blind man with a stick screaming comedically like one of the Three Stooges.

Younger me used to think Return of the Jedi was my favorite but I believe it was because it had the best space battle and I liked seeing Carrie Fisher in a brass bikini.

Seriously? Are you sure they didn't get those mixed up and there aren't some scruffy teens in New York riding actual Star Wars Speeder Bikes?

I'm not going lie, if they made this crossover, I'd totally watch it. Talk about a clash of worlds, Al Bundy on the Enterprise!
