In all fairness, it was shown that Luke did have a quick grieving process for his aunt and uncle. When he said "There is nothing for me here" he was being pragmatic but you could sense pain and loss in his voice.

The weirdest thing to me in A New Hope was Leia comforting Luke about Obi Wan Kenobi's death.

Leia lost her home planet a couple days prior. No human being can bounce back from severe loss that quickly.
