Unfortunately it is based solely on the Disney Trilogy. A shame, I was really excited about it when they first announced it.
That's fair. Despite that, I just hope it would be fun to be surrounded by Star Wars things/environments. Kind of like the Harry Potter part of Universal.
Even though I wanted more OT land, I knew it would be something more Disney trilogy focused. I'm okay with a "new" planet for the setting; a place that's hot and humid. I'm just not as okay with the new storyline focus/theme.
*UPDATE
YEARS ago, a buddy of mine and I toyed around with designing a whole Star Wars park (Disney World fashion). There were (most?) of the OT planets surrounding a giant Death Star like Epcot.
-Tatooine had the "Beggars Canyon Run" coaster, animatronic animal rides (banthas, dewbacks, etc), the Cantina, and Jabba's Palace (can't remember what we did there... restaurant/stage shows?).
-Hoth had a snow speeder coaster that went around 1-2 AT-ATs, ice cream treats, and other stuff that escapes me at the moment.
-I think Cloud City was mostly pleasure/relaxation stuff? Or shopping, restaurants, grown up stuff?
-Coruscant was the "castle" area for our park. Kind of like the Emerald City of Oz.
-Endor was similar to Swiss Family Robinson & Huck Finn Island (Disney), with kid stuff, easy ropes courses through an Ewok village, water log rides, that kind of stuff. Wait! Obviously, we had speeder bike rides, too.
-Mon Calamari was naturally all water/aquarium stuff VERY much like Disney's Finding Nemo walk through experience. I think we even tried to be clever with an "elevator" entrance that "descended" into the ocean (when all it really did was turn around slowly into the aquarium).
-I don't remember if we did anything for Dagobah? We did try to do some faux memorials for Alderaan and the Battle of Hoth.
-The Death Star involved two rides "recreating" the two attacks on it. One went mostly around the outside and a "trench" while the other went through the inside. That might have been too difficult, but I was inspired by the Loch Ness Monster coasters (of Busch Gardens Williamsburg, USA) which intertwine.
