and Boss Nass
He's annoying too. Not Jar Jar level annoying... but still annoying.

and Boss Nass was going to sentence him to death for returning to Gunga City,
They had put up with Jar Jar for quite a long time knowing that his accidents weren’t done on purpose, and they could be seen as quite a tolerant culture because of that.

Getting banished for being clumsy and then being sentenced to death for returning is hardly an example of a tolerant culture.

because their victory against the Empire was more than just unrealistic, it was utterly stupid.
This is one of the rare times when we actually agree!:eek:

Given that they put up with him for around 20 years, during which time he managed to set free all the animals in the Otoh Gunga zoo, blow up a gas cooker in Boss Nass’ mansion and crack the bubble to flood it during a party, crash Boss Nass’ favourite submarine and caused a whole lot of other accidents all over Otoh Gunga when trying to get jobs, and even then they only threatened to kill him if he came back from exile, rather than having him killed straight after the submarine disaster, I’d say they were pretty patient with him. They couldn’t have him causing disasters in their city forever, so they had to get rid of him somehow. How long would you be able to put up with Jar Jar without wanting to have him killed?

What about imprisonment? A death penalty is pretty harsh, especially when considering that none of those events were motivated by malevolent design.

He wouldn't be executed in our society.

but what about all the Star Wars fans who want to kill him?
But he is a fictional character. Killing off a fictional character is not the same as killing off a member of your society for the crime of being clumsy (and annoying).

How are the Gungans a tolerant society when they are even less tolerant than our own?

In the real Star Wars universe:
  • Mace Windu
  • Count Dooku
  • Obi-Wan (or Vader)
If we count the EU, then Prime Luke has to be included (displacing Obi-Wan). However, at the age he is pictured, I'd go with my three selections above. All have good temperament, and are among the strongest force wielders and/or duelists. Vader can also be considered, but his personality is temperamental and could be side-tracked or jeopardize the mission (protecting you). On the flip side though, you really don't want to be facing off against his force choke (at a distance). So maybe sub him in for Obi-Wan.

In the Disney Star Wars universe:
  • Rey (no one else is required, she beats everyone combined)

If we are going based on raw power:
  • Vader
  • Windu
  • Maul
They’re all force users and canonically I believe they are the most skilled lightsaber duellists (Sidious is above Maul but he doesn’t seem to be on there). They may not be the best strategists but they’re all intelligent enough not be at any major disadvantage, and given they’re specifically going to be tasked with defending you I think it’s fair to discount any issues with temperament. Plus, as a bonus Vader is the best pilot in the galaxy!

first and foremost, kenobi. Im going to try to get the high ground so I will want him along.
second, jar jar. The sound of his voice would make everyone kill themselves.
