That too, yes. And as a "reflection surface" for Finn. The problem with movies compared to books is that you can't have internal monologues for character development. You need some character to do that.

Agreed, but they already had better characters in place. She is boring. I can't imagine anyone ever saying that Rose is their favorite Star Wars character... in rare instances, even Jar Jar can make that claim.

I've spoken with a few people, and the general consensus is that she was likely included as an attempt to further reach the cinema market in Asia. It is of course purely speculation, but it does seem likely at best and plausible at worst.

Its just...ridiculous, wonderful and a great example of fun stuff the star wars folks get up to.

I mean the 501st alone is great

Yeah! They do a blood drive at Anime Boston every year and I think a charity auction at one point.

Definitely a great group. They make all sorts of great R2 remote controlled droids. Plus their costumes are always on point.

Actually don't they have an official guide book for how your costume has to look if you want to join?

I don't know. I've always wanted to make a costume but somehow never find the time. I do have the lightsabers though... 4 of them.
