The Jedi were surprised by the Clone Troopers.
It is hard to be surprised by someone who stands in front of you with a gun asking you to leave because he has a weirdly strong opinion about some movie... :D :D
Surprised and badly outnumbered. Played for fools by the Sith. So opposite your point, maybe they should have cared a bit.

And as I said, I'd predict a lover of The Last Jedi to be more akin to L3 than a Jedi.

Trust me, if you like movie The Last Jedi, you wouldn't have force powers in the Star Wars universe!

The best you could hope for is...

As for the Jedi not caring about the Clone Troopers, maybe they should have...

oops
So ending up in complete control of the main characters in the OT and thus deciding the fate of the entire galaxy? “Oh no.”

Also, it was chips implanted in the Clone Trooper’s brains that caused them to carry out Order 66, not any nonsense about the Jedi not caring

Who exactly is deciding the fate of the galaxy?

And don't forget the source material for L3, Solo, the biggest failure in the history of Star Wars (outside of the Holiday special of course).

I think you missed the entire meaning of the conversation. Who proposed that the Clones complied with order 66 due to the Jedi not caring? Rather the Jedi becoming complacent and not recognizing the massive threat the clones posed is what left them so open and unprepared for the clone betrayal.

I said it is an OK movie.
OK =/= love. Not even close. Just OK, like many movies.

Noted. I make the following amendment...

I'd predict a lover defender of The Last Jedi to be more akin to L3 than a Jedi.

:p

I am curious though, if you only feel that the movie is "okay", then what motivates you to continually leap to its defense?

Because some people constantly say it was bad. Which it wasn't. It was an OK movie. Far away from a bad movie.

I know, somebody who bashes a movie that religiously shouldn't be taken seriously, but the constant tautology is _just_ annoying enough that there has to be some kind of counter against it. I only bring a little balance. :)

I guess that is where we differ. I see no point in defending something that I don't really care for (i.e. it's okay). I will however adamantly defend things that are meaningful and significant to me.

As for some people (i.e. roughly half the fan base) constantly saying it is bad, that is indicative of a problem. The movie is bad because it created such a backlash from the community. I just can't rate a movie as okay when it garnered such a poor reaction. I do feel there are some good things about, namely the cinematography is spectacular and the music is great, however, they really missed the mark on story and character development. So I guess it comes down to what a person is looking for in a movie.

Oh definitely!
The thing is: people overreact, and echo chambers make it even worse.
Same goes for positive things. When people were fanboying about The Dark Knight (which is a good movie) it was important for me to not forget the bad things as well. For the balance. Same goes for Infinity War.
When talking to some audiences you could get the impression that Infinity War is among the top5 movies of all times, and everybody who criticizes it or didn't like it that much is basically dumb.
That's why I feel the need to include the other side of the discussion, too. Balance is important to me.
And not only about movies, this is a general thing for me. When everyone hates something I search for the good parts. When everyone loves something I search for the bad parts. To get the whole picture.

So in our example here: If you didn't focus on the bad parts of it that much I'd probably not defend it either.

And the clone trooper meme provided a humoristic chance to do so, by taking his words too literally, making a statement that didn't conflict with what he said while at the same time not agreeing with him.
