Holdo is the worst of the two because she has no redeeming features as a story character and her sole purpose is for SJW propaganda. That said, if given the choice I would get rid of Jar Jar. The reason being is that TLJ is an unredeemable movie in an unredeemable trilogy. Removing her accomplishes nothing. There is no way of fixing the Disney Trilogy, it is best left forgotten (or ridiculed). On the other hand, Episode I, for all its flaws, still has some great characters and moments. Removing Jar Jar would go a very long way in shoring up the weaknesses of the film.

Later a canon explanation was retconned (but essentially, Samuel L. Jackson wanted to be distinct and you don't say no to Samuel L. Jackson.)

The lightsaber gems are connected to the force. Dark Side users cause the gems to sort of bleed...hence red.

Blue light saber users focus on defending the weak and being righteous warriors.

Green light saber users focus on the mysticism of the Force.

Yellow light saber users are the weird philosopher Jedi that only show up in the Clone Wars cartoons.

Mace Windu's purple lightsaber represents Mace refusing to eshew the Dark Side entirely, acknowledging his inner Dark Side and carefully channeling it.

Asoka Tano's white lightsabers are supposedly red light sabers that have been cleansed of their Dark Side taint but leaving it colorless.
