Like I said, you can't really have a conversation with a person who walks out of a lecture in response to "on average men are taller than women". In that specific video case, those people are clearly triggered snowflakes.

Like any insult though, you have to use judgement in its use and application.



As I said above, each of us has to apply sound judgment when placing people in such categories. To be fair, I've never met an actual NPC/SJW in my life (outside of the internet). I've met people with minor SJW tenancies/sympathies, heck, I'm even friends with some of them. However, they don't meet the criteria of NPC status so they are not categorized as such.

NPCs are a real minority in society, but their voices are disproportionately loud. The internet is the real problem in this equation, it serves as an echo chamber that amplifies their voices (this applies to other less than ideal groups as well). On their own, most of these people would be kept in line by the normal people that surround them in the real world. In real life they are not so bold as they are on twitter. However, on Twitter and other such platforms, their collective screechy voices do considerable social damage.


They're still real humans, just not humans with fully functional brains! :p As far as I'm concerned, if people don't want to be referred to as NPCs they shouldn't exhibit the behaviors and response patterns that perfectly mimic their video game counterparts.

When people do stupid shit, they need to be called out for it. Otherwise the propagation of stupid shit will spiral out of control. I have no desire to see these people coddled and protected.



Those people that attacked her are literally the NPCs. They don't have the ability to challenge her ideas (because ultra liberal ideas on immigration are absurd) so they apply their stock video game NPC response... in this case Nazi (that is actually one the favourite NPC responses within the SJW world). This actually proves my point!

Well the whole immigration issue in Europe is a huge colossal mess. Many countries really screwed up that one. It is probably best to avoid that little topic, but we all know that I can't help myself...

I mostly agree.
Not with Orban though. He was (and still is) very wrong in almost everything he does, including the immigration crisis. IMHO he is way too far in the extreme right corner.

But that's really too far from Star Wars I guess.

Let's talk about another controversial topic instead:
The Ewok movies!

Have y'all seen them? And what do you think are the good/bad parts of them?

My memory on them is a tad hazy, I've seen them on TV once or twice, back in... the 90s I guess.

Really? Many of the other countries in Europe are having huge issues with terrorism. Additionally, sections of the cities become so dangerous that they are considered "no go" zones. Forget about opinions or political affiliations, the crime statistics since the adoption of open borders have not been favorable. Even as I peruse the Canadian Travel Advisory, I see prominent and previously safe European countries are now listed with the warning "Exercise a high degree of caution".

Surprise, surprise... not in Hungary!



Poor tiny little Hungary was one of the first to stand up to the EU, but they no longer stand alone. We have seen the formation of the V4 (Hungary, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia). Italy has also turned against EU policy. Then we have the case of Brexit. More and more countries are swinging to the right over the migration crisis.

I'm not sorry to say that history has proven Orban to be correct.

No, we don't. The Terrorist threat is greatly exaggerated, and those "no-go" areas have been there for a long time, since before the refugee crisis.

I am not saying that the policy was right, it wasn't in many cases, but mainly for economic reasons.

Can we now go back to Star Wars?
You and I agreed that we don't want to discuss that here, and we both made short statements. That should be enough.

That's sad. Those movies are... highly special.

Ewoks in general are a funny thing for me.
I was young enough to like them when I first saw the movie, so I have quite fond memories of them. At the same time I see that from a movie point of view many scenes with them are pretty badly done.
So nowadays they fit into the category "not really good but I still enjoy it" for me.
They should have gone for the Wookies, but well, George Lucas was about the money, and the rating that allows 12 year old kids to see it was in danger, so he thought it was a good idea.
