*SPOILERS* - The Mandalorian Thread - *SPOILERS*

It's amazing how many reaction videos based upon baby Yoda there are on Youtube...

As for Baby Yoda's force it seems like he uses it when things are at their worst. Being connected to the force he can probably sense these things even if he doesn't know why. He may just be able to feel the emotions of those nearest to him, which could have explained why he tried to force choke Cara (that's her name right?). He may have sensed the Mando's anger as he tried to best her and then thought he was in trouble. As for the IG scene I think the implication was that they might sink the boat and they would have no cover, meaning they would be hit by almost all the shots, which certainly wouldn't be good (especially if Baby Yoda was one of the ones hit!)
Yeah I definitely see ways to explain all those. Sure, some are easier to explain than others but that's half of the fun for me (and also why I think it is sad that many people seemingly refuse to do the same with the sequel trilogy for example, where the same would work in many cases).

That is why the show will never end with dignity.

Mando is on a quest to find baby Yoda's people. He will never find them because the show will die when he does. Some television shows have planned endings but Disney will keep repackaging this until the show's viewership dries up.

I tend to agree but I also have to say it has a lot of potential, and part of that is because it is a bit of a genre mix I guess. It feels... fresh even though most of its elements aren't new.

The baby on the left will become an adult in <18 years and move away. The one on the right is a lifetime burden that attracts villainous attention.

So I binge watched Baby Yoda and his Mandalorian pal. It's a good show. It's not a great show.

The franchise is saved, but it's not like Mandalorian is going to usher in a golden age of great Star Wars.

If the Star Wars franchise was a person, it's like "We saved your life, but you will never be the same. You'll walk with a limp for the rest of your life, and that's after intense physical therapy."

Only Kathleen's Kennedy's head on a spike can truly save Star Wars.

I disagree. If Kathleen's head went on a metaphorical spike and she was fired in disgrace that would not do anything.

Destroying the One Ring breaks Sauron's power forever and brings peace to Middle Earth, but removing the figure head of Wokeness does not make the Disney sequels go away.

If you want to get out of a hole, the first step is to put down the shovel. Removing Kathleen (and the others, she wasn't single handedly responsible for damaging the brand). Kathleen Kennedy is the shovel. But Star Wars is still in a hole.

You would need three or four consecutive shows as popular before the general audiences would be receptive to another blockbuster Star Wars movie. Maybe an extremely well-written low budget Star Wars movie (like Joker 2019) is in order before we get to a big blockbuster again.

Who said anything about metaphorical? The rest would get in line.

I disagree. If artists and patrons of the art were executed for producing crap media products, most artists would leave the industry. Only the desperate, stupid, or insane would continue to produce art.

I think we need cutthroat capitalism. We need to reduce barriers to entry, so that the Almighty Dollar will go to only those who produce things people want to see.

Step one would be to remove the Mickey Mouse law.

This.

SOMETIMES, insane people make great art. That being said, you don't have to arrange policies to encourage this. It just kind of happens on it's own.

Art will always be getting made. But you need all the rest so the art gets from the artists to the masses (like is).

Oh man I was so gutted when all the Blurghs died. :(

I was not that disappointed because I predicted that they were basically bestial red shirts and that they were set up that way. Predictable but acceptable.

It was also pretty obvious IG-11 was going to self-destruct in a heroic fashion. It was done in a hack fashion. I would have preferred it not be included.

I was surprised and moved when Kuill died. That was a well orchestrated and very moving. I would say it might be the best scene in Mandalorian.

I have spoken.

Yeah it was a bit silly. Those were only 12 Stormtroopers or so. We have seen IG and the heroes kill dozens easily. The scene felt... scripted. :D
