How big is a spawning pool?

Is the answer different for:
A) a terrain piece.
B) examples in fluff and fiction.

I ask because I am considering building one, and question #1 is how big to build it.

A) Something 8"x4" is what I would expect for terrain. Maybe a little bigger.

B) They should be fairly large. I'd assume they're deeper than they appear on the surface since whole cohorts spawn at once. I'd say they could be about the size of a standard short course swimming pool.

I'm sure I remember the fluff describing them as vast, flooded caverns beneath the temple cities.

Most I see online however are a lot smaller. I remember a White Dwarf issue years ago with a swimming pool-esque design. It had similar dimensions to what Qupakoco suggeste. I also saw another "official" terrain piece that looked like a pond...

The Saurus are born in the caverns under the temple cities, whereas the Skinks and Kroxigor come from pools within or surrounding the cities. I believe the 6th edition book has a great picture of a Saurus being "born".

Ah, I remember that picture. Unfortunately I couldn't find it.

The Saurus always looked like it was doing a hair flick out of the water.

That is pretty cool. Did the original buckle have the colors in the incised lines? Was that added with paint or ink before the water effects went it?
the buckle was iron colored. It was painted the colors but only on the raised portions. then filled with the Scenic water.
